ER visit for Atticus

Atticus had his first trip to the ER in an ambulance.
He had a febrile seizure and trouble breathing on Monday.
We were in the ER for several hours while they poked and prodded our little guy. He tested positive for only the flu. Greta and Dusty are sick as well. Dusty has bronchitis. So we are laying low this weekend, trying to get healthy. We are tired of this winter as well as all the sickness!

Greta and Atticus both had a fun filled birthday party! Greta is officially three and Atticus is one, hard to believe. We had a circus themed party with hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy.

Back on the Bench

My first week "back on the bench" went better than expected. The pharmacy needed a complete overhaul. I cleaned, pitched and organized every crevice, drawer and shelf. It was quite a chore. Major direction is needed and I am anxious and excited to turn things around. I did decide on three 11 hour days with a half day every other week. I am so thankful to have every weekend off. I love being an active member in church and running the power point on Sundays. I miss it when I am gone. So to have every Sunday off means the world to both Dusty and I.

I did miss my children and found myself watching the clock several times, daydreaming of what they would be doing at that exact time. The best thing though is being able to see them to bed every night. I cherish story time and snuggling. Greta got her love of books and reading from me. She reminds me so much of how I was at that age. She would read all night if we would let her!

They are doing WONDERFUL with Linda. She is so much more than we could have ever dreamed of. Mary Poppins, Super Nanny and Loving Grandma all rolled into one. After one day, Greta was saying "excuse me" when she interupted, "please and thank you's" galore, as well as praying at each meal. I am so proud of her. We are so blessed to have Pastor Al and Linda in our lives. It could not have worked out anymore perfectly. God is great!

ATTICUS TURNS ONE!

My little boy is ONE year old!! We celebrated tonight with a little cake for Atticus - just to see him make a mess! Grandma Adah and Aunt Danah came over to celebrate! The big party is next week on Greta's birthday!

Career Move for Brooke

I am officially a pharmacy manager once again. I have slowly been picking up more and more days at work. The reason: Dusty and I want to build a rather large addition onto our house this summer. We want to build what we want (our dream house adding to our existing!) instead of cutting any corners. This will be a lot easier to achieve if I work more than 16 hours a week. It was nice while it lasted, but now it's back to the bench. A position opened in Dixon for a pharmacy manager and I accepted. Excited? yes......will I miss Greta and Atticus? yes, yes yes!
Everything seems to be falling into place though. Our neighbor (Pastor's wife) is going to watch them for us at our house while I am working. I could not think of anything better. Dusty will be home with them as well. I am shooting for three very long days versus four normal days. This way I will be able to see them every night to bed as well as be home with them for 4 days. I'll know Tuesday for sure!

Greta's First Frosty!

Greta's first Frosty!

It was the cutest and saddest thing ever. Once Frosty was built, she started singing him the song, "Frosty.....the snowman....." Then she looked over at us with puppy dog eyes and asked why he was not singing. She continued to sing as well as pack more snow on him, informing us that this would help him to sing. She just waited and waited. It broke my heart.

She truly thought he would sing or move and continued to watch him through the window during the day. I guess watching the animated Frosty the Snowman movie had more of an impact than I thought it would.

Kalahari - Wisconsin Dells

Our recent trip to the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. We went with the Carmichaels and Genslers. 6 adults and 7 kids under 5 years old - all in one suite! We had a great time hanging out at the waterpark all day. I would not say a relaxing vacation....but it was still a great time. It's nice to look out the windows and see snow everywhere while you're swimming!

Greta sitting pretty!

Atticus and his big old smile!

I can't believe I am posting a picture of me in a swimsuit, however I am mostly blocked by my cute kids - so it's OK!

I love this picture - especially with the shadow.

Daddy and Atticus - my little pale boys! Gosh, Dusty needs a tan!
