.........AND IT BEGINS!
Our "to be" sitting room, now filled with all the kitchen cabinets we will be reusing. Since we are adding on a huge pantry with all new cabinets, we decided to save money and reuse our existing cabinets. We are just changing the layout and design. We removed the peninsula and will be replacing with a center island. As well as gaining 5 more feet by removing a half bath and the existing pantry.
Dusty hard at work tearing out a 6 inch wall ledge. We would rather gain those 6 inches than have a clutter shelf surrounding the kitchen!
Greta and Atticus doing their best to help! The line to the right of them is where the existing peninsula was. Thank goodness the flooring below remained intact! We will refinish the original floor when done!
SURPRISE! We have been wondering about this chimney for quite some time now. We thought it would look better to expose the chimney if possible, if it was still intact and not crumbly. So far, so good!
I hope it remains in good condition as we reveal more. I would love for this to be exposed in the kitchen!

On the 2nd floor we will be tearing out our existing closet to give us 3 more feet of space, as well as an exposed chimney (hopefully) ~ we will be adding on to our bedroom a walk in closet, laundry room and a master bathroom. Cannot wait ~ conveniences we have been longing for!
